Welcome Around Slovenia in 3-5 days. Usually we start travelling in the capital so I would suggest to start in Ljubljana. It is easy to come to the Ljubljana. In capital you find different accommodations, in different ranks. I highly recommend any of tourist farms with special experience, like Bio apartments Trnulja. If you will stay in the apartments Trnulja there you can take a guided farm tour with the presentation of cold oil pressing and tasting platter. There you can also rent a bike, electric bike or electric vehicle rent. I would highly recommend the boat ride at Ljubljanica river with the lunch, what the Trnulja also offers to their guests. And the most important is that there you can really relax and connect with green nature.
First day take advantage of Ljubljana. Walk around Tromostovje (Three bridges), Prešeren square and take the funicular to the Ljubljana castle, from where you have beautiful view over city. I suggest you also to take a drink in the Skyscraper or on 20th floor of Intercontinental hotel and enjoy the view from the other side of Ljubljana. Do not forget to walk through the park Tivoli. In Ljubljana you can visit a lot of different museums, I prefer House of illusions which is suitable for adults and children. On first Sunday in month you can visit some museums and galleries for free.
Because Slovenia is small country I would suggest you to stay some nights in capital or close to the capital. So evenings you can spend somewhere in the center of Ljubljana, at the river Ljubljanica.
Second day go to the southwest of Slovenia, to the Postojna and seaside. Visit Postojna cave (1,5 hour for visit) and Predjama castle (1 hour for visit). In Postojna cave you can take a ride by cave train which is special experience. There you can meet the baby dragons.
Second half of the day spend at Slovenian seaside. You can choose between Koper, Piran and Portorož. Koper is more business town with more shops while Portorož and Piran are towns for relax or gambling. You can go to the Sečovlje Salina nature park where you can take educational guided tour about the procedure of salt panning.
Third day you go to the northwest of Slovenia, to Bled and Bohinj lakes. Lake Bled is the Slovenian pearl with its island in the middle. You can take a boat to the island and enjoy the view over Bled from the middle. I suggest you to go to the castle over the lake and enjoy the view. Even better view you will have from the Ojstrica and Mala Osojnica above the Bled and it will take you just half an hour. Do not forget to eat Bled cream cake.
Second half of the third day I recommend you to spend at Bohinj lake and fabulous waterfall Savica. In Bohinj lake you can swim, boat ride, wind surf, fish or just relax with the perfect view over Julian Alps. I would recommend you also to take the cable car to the Mt. Vogel where your time will be well spent in all seasons.
If you have time to stay in Slovenia 3-5 days, you could change your accommodation after two nights. Slovenia offers a lots of different experience. You can spend a night or two on a tree in the Garden village Bled.
For the fourth day I would really suggest you to go to the Triglav national park which is close to the Bled. There you can hike, cycle and enjoy in the green nature. There you will find a lots of tourist farms where you can try genuine Slovenian food.
The most famous attraction in the Triglav national park is the highest Slovenian mountain Triglav. Normally you can choose easier trail in the park. I would highly recommend the Triglav lakes valley. You can choose also between the Vintgar gorge, Kranjska gora or Soča Valley.
Slovenia is well-known for thermal spas and health resorts. So after fourth strenuous day in Triglav national park relax in any of Slovenian thermal spa. You can choose any wellness within Sava hotels&resort in Bled. Or you can drive through green Slovenia to the Thermana Laško, Terme Čatež or any other spa. There you can restore your health, relieve stress or just easily calm down. If you decide for Laško you could take a walk through the Energy points in Thermana Laško Park.
So I write about first time in Slovenia in 3-5 days. If you are coming in Slovenia more times then I suggest you to read list of 50 things to do in Slovenia.
