Transport around Slovenia

Slovenia is in the middle between Croatia, Austria, Italy and Hungary. It is also in Schengen area, so you can easy come in the country from the neighboring countries. You have different options how to come to Slovenia.

By car around Slovenia

Slovenia has the highway cross. For driving on the motorway you need vignettes. You can buy the vignettes in every petrol station. In the slovenian cities the parking is more or less payable.

By train

By bus

Every day you can come to Slovenia by bus from the different european cities. To the capital you can buy ticket online. You can choose also fast lines between cities.

From the capital of Slovenia you can go by Flixbus to the many cities and airports around Europe for low price.

In every bigger slovenian city you have public bus. In capital it is LPP.

Get in from the airport

There are officially 3 airports but 99 % of flights go to Ljubljana airport. It called Jože Pučnik airport and it is 26km from the capital. Because Slovenia is small country so you can also come to one of the neighbor airports (Venice, Trieste, Zagreb, Vienna, Klagenfurt). To/from Venice (Treviso) you have also different low cost flights.

By bike

Because Slovenian cities are relatively small you can rent a bike and by its reach almost everything in the city.
